Fund YOUR Orchestra (this fundraiser begins in the spring)

As with the beginning of the year, we are trying something entirely new: DONATION FUNDRAISER! Since I arrived at Chisholm Trail in 2010, nearly half (a good guess) of parents always ask the same two questions: “How much profit do you make from this (cookie dough, magazine, chocolate bar, pizza, etc.) fundraiser?” or “Can I just donate instead so you get 100% of the proceeds?”

Well, my friends, now is your chance to see if this is a good idea! That’s right, we are doing a 100% DONATION-BASED fundraiser! We are calling it: Fund YOUR Orchestra! This really is your orchestra; and I’m talking to kids, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, neighbors, family pets, anyone who benefits from CSTO! The things that make CSTO run smoothly are not cheap and fundraising is such an essential part of being in a large music program. As school budgets continue to go in a downward spiral, the cost of running a program continues going up. The only way music programs like CSTO survive is with fundraising!

Here are a couple of highlights from this fundraiser:

  • Begin date: Monday, February 11, 2019

  • End date: Wednesday, February 20, 2019

  • 100% profit - yes, 100%! No sharing 50% (or more) with a company!

  • Cash or Check is accepted (checks are made payable to: USD 233)

  • Money earned from orchestra kids stays with the orchestra program

  • Each grade level uses the money for their field trips and a portion goes to the general orchestra fund (instrument repair, instrument purchase, etc.)

Prizes

  • Every $5.00 in donation = one piece of “fun size” candy on everyday leading up to the final day

  • Thursday, February 14 = double candy day

  • Top fundraiser in orchestra >>> Wireless Earbuds

  • 3 Runners Up >>> Hammock or Inflatable Chair (your choice of color)

  • Movie Party >>> all students who turn in $50.00 in donations will attend a movie party in the auditorium with the big screen and world-famous homemade kettle corn from Mr. Evans (band teacher and popcorn maker extraordinaire)!


Popcornopolis (this fundraiser has ended)

This year, we are bringing back POPCORN! Popcornopolis popcorn is Certified Gluten Free, has many flavors that are nut free, and the popcorn is made in coconut oil.

Here are some of the highlights of the fundraiser along with some important information:

  • Begin date: Monday, September 9, 2019

  • End date: Friday, September 20, 2019 (this is the day they will turn in forms and all money/checks)

  • 50% profit - this is a major increase from previous fundraisers

  • Donations are accepted year round (we make 100% profit off donations)

  • Checks, both fundraiser and donations, are made payable to: USD 233

  • Money earned from orchestra kids stays with the orchestra program

  • Each grade level uses the money for their field trips, music purchase, instrument purchases, etc.

  • Every cone of popcorn sold is a bag of "fun size" candy on everyday leading up to turn-in day!
    + 10-pack = 10 sales
    + 5-pack = 5 sales
    + Every $5.00 in donation = 1 sale

  • Friday, September 13 + Wednesday, September 18 = double candy day

  • Movie Party >>> all students who sell ten (10) cones of popcorn OR collects $50.00 in donation will attend a movie party in the auditorium with the big screen and world-famous homemade Kettle Corn from Mr. Evans (band teacher and popcorn maker extraordinaire)!
